Shiang earned his Ph.D. in physics in 2019 studying the first principle electronic structure modeling. The research subjects include the two-dimensional layered materials and their heterostructures such as twisted bilayer graphene and Kagome crystals. He also applies the modeling to study the responses in the probes which include the non-linear electrical transport properties, STM and QPI imaging, and photoemission.
